Join Us for the Clothesline Project Exhibition and Action Day on 28 November 2024

Domestic violence is a complex, multifaceted issue that profoundly impacts individuals and society as a whole. Its severe consequences make it one of the most pressing challenges we face today.

About the Event

The Clothesline Project has been brought to Münster by Prof. Dr. Dr. Bettina Pfleiderer, leader of the EU project VIPROM, in partnership with Christina Klöckner, the Equal Opportunities Officer at Münster University Hospital.

Time: 10am – 5pm
Location: L20, Teaching Building of the Medical Faculty, Münster, Germany

Event Highlights

  • Opening Remarks by Christina Klöckner, Equal Opportunities Officer at UKM:
These sessions will be held at 10:00, 13:00, and 16:00.
  • Introduction to the Exhibition by Prof. Dr. Dr. Bettina Pfleiderer:
This will take place at the beginning of each session throughout the day.

This action day is part of the EU projects VIPROM and IMPROVE. Both EU projects aim  to enhance support for victims of domestic violence and equip medical first responders with the skills to identify and assist those in need more effectively. Raising awareness about domestic violence is a collective responsibility that concerns us all.

The Clothesline Project

Central to this event is the impactful Clothesline Project, which invites individuals to share their stories and experiences related to domestic violence. This initiative creates a compelling narrative that highlights the importance of addressing this critical issue.

The Clothesline Project emphasises inclusivity, providing a platform for all affected individuals and their supporters to contribute. Whether directly impacted by domestic violence or acting as a supporter, everyone is encouraged to design a T-shirt that conveys a personal message. The project also honours those who have lost their lives to domestic violence.

Visitors will encounter a symbolic clothesline displaying T-shirts decorated with personal messages, quotes, and artwork—each piece representing the voice of someone affected by domestic violence or their allies.

If you wish to contribute a T-shirt, please refer to the details in the attached PDF.

The exhibition will be open throughout the event, with trained personnel on hand to provide support and engage with attendees. Join us in this essential dialogue and help raise awareness about domestic violence. Together, we can make a significant difference.
